The reason is, that you should also change the oil switch to a cossie one as well as the spring, as this will light up when the oil pressure is below 20psi.Wich will and can save you total destruction.
The std oil switch is 12psi. If your driving and the light comes on with only 12psi your engine is already dead. With 20+psi u have time to stop and dip the clutch before the pistons overtake you... If its night time you may even see glowing particles in the mirror.. Only witnessed in my mate turbo nova.. Not my cars! lol.
The burton high pressure pump is a std copy item from any local motorfactors with a spring fitted that makes the pressure higher.
The myth that they fail is due to the fact that you are buying a cheap copy item so what do you expect? Burton dont make them so wont care if it fails either.
As for the spring, you all know i cant trade on here so i cant start giving you links etc or ill get banned again for trying to help.
U need to do a little more research and find out results for your self or at least first hand, otherwise the site ends up full of info that has no experianced conclusions. Just hear say and myths.
Regards
I don't know if the cvh one has different rating, but the ford supplied one for the cossie is the same as a transit, same part number and everything, as I've just bought one.
