LOL he means the electronic "Gubbins" in the drivers door, such as relays etc that have been added with the alarm.

I would first start by checking the fuse as this is easy to do and where you need to make sure the circuit has power.

I guess 3DR'S have a "in car release" for the tailgate then by looking at that diagram?
