When was the fuel filter last changed?

I would suspect the MAP sensor the fact the idle speed can rise means ECU is recieving input from someone to raise the idle speed, if CTS is open circuit it typically floods and does not start at all as it simulates a very cold condition. Sensor conditions can be checked by using the flash code diagnostics, Easily made with a 12V LED or LED and 670~ - 1000~ resistor, if you want to do this and need any more info with this let me know and I will tell you how to set it up, quite good although a sensor fault will only show you if it is open or closed circuit.
