Maybe it's worth trying somewhere more central for the meet? It's a fucking mission across town these days so by having a meet in e.g. hockley heath, it's a pain for anyone from sandwell/great barr/etc to come. What about somewhere like hall green dogs? or the journey's end (clay lane, yardley)? other side of town an option could be the university - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&so...on&hnear=&z=18
