hi im neil from swindon any one from swindon any way im new to fords mainley owned audis and vw , i have a 87 escort 1.4 gl im looking for engine mods that are quite cheap , the car its self is solid rust free and only done 38k its a 5 door, used to belong to a old chap that hardley drove it then when he died was stored for few yrs before his neice had it and then her son who did a bit ie full leather recaros and sprayed it (badly) and put a wide mouth rs front bumper on and rs spoiler, i plan to respray it lower it , remove bumper and spolier and replace with original and fit some refurbed 16" steelies then think of the engine , was thinking turbo but been done was looking at maybe a mondeo st lump can it be done? what would be best engine to fit or what mods can be done the 1.4
