Ta. You're probably right but they came with the wheels and were new so just left them on. I'd imagine they might rub with a larger profile - they rub a wee bit with a full car as it is but fortunately that's only been once.
The tyre size it perfect (as is the rest of the car) on 18's on a classic you can't go any wider and bigger, mine has 225/40/18"s and I'm on the look out for some 215/35/18"s because you need to butcher the arches and they don't handle correctly.
