I've spoken to the garage and they said they have put forward a recommendation to the insurance company that it's marked as a total loss. But can't do anything until I have confirmation from them.

Will then wait to see what cash value they offer, they've also said that they will automatically offer the car back to me, so just have to wait and see how much for and then decide.

They've given me a 44 mile old, 10 plate, insignia sri diesel, until the claim is settled. Awful car, but I can't imagine it will be that cheap per day, so think they may pay up quickly to get the matter resolved.
