righty. the prob comes and goes now. can go allday fine then another day its allo ver the place.... Wonder if something as simple as a dodgy fuel gauge sender unit could cause this. Surely it's no coincidence, that the two appear to be linked.
What I'd advise is ringing up a selection of Ford dealers, asking to speak to a technician, and saying that you're considering bringing the car in, but want to talk to someone first.
You 'may' find a tech who's helpful and who has experienced it before,.
