Racey, i probably don't come across too well (not an understatement, honest). I build fast road/race cars as a sideline, for me it's a hobby (see tiny's V8 Sapphire). tiny's car came into my workshop to have the exhaust rectified, which then lead on to a whole herd load of work on the car.
The problems i encountered with suppliers (some big reputable names), went from annoying, to literally unbelieveable, and the time penalties incurred were a joke. The only way that car has got to a state where it can be driven was by persistance, and working to solutions, not resting with problems.
Quite a few people have said to me, why don't i build cars as my sole business. Absolutely, no way, people just don't understand the kind of crap, and the run arounds you recieve in the industry. And as far as i'm concerned the buck stops at me if the job aint done on time, and i don't need the hastle (any hastle come to that).
Obviously, if the kit from 'Hi Spec' was incomplete for one reason or another, it aint right. But no ones perfect, and i've seen some seriously talented people torn to shreds on this site, imo their input/talent is a loss to the industry. I think it would have been smarter to have found a constructive way round the problem, rather than tackling it head on, and blowing it way out of proportion? We're only human, after all.
