Doesn't sound like theres much wrong with it to me. it's perfectly normal to hear the coolant flowing when engine is switched on after being standing.

For me it would have to be a Pinto not just because of the tuning ability of it but also being that Sierras nativly had them would be easy to fit, whereas the 24V did not so not sure the work involved to fit it.
