mine works ok generally, and is on a almost consistent routine

peak hours, like 5pm onwards are way down to 1mbps

all other times and especially early mornings are back upto ~6.6mbps

i have the 40gb per month sky connect pack, which is £10 per month and is just a re-branded bt unlimited package
