hay everyone i have a real big problem n i wonder if anyone can help me to figure this one out
Cutting a long story short i have built a 2.0 ZVH Ford Orion 160bhp ish S2.RST box and im running R1 carbs OEM R1 pump with Megajolt custom manafold, 4 branch etc etc standard cam setup big valves duel springs ported n gass flowd head solid lifters all runs verrrrrry well idle, mid range but for some reason top end seem so back off n a glugging sound creeps in and no more power is avalible it does sort ov limit but it dosent want to my main jets are 1.7mm at the moment they wer 1.8mm neather made a difference i have to try to sort the problem i have blocked the air corrector jets to see if it makes any difference it did a little bit but not much.
now am i correct in saying that my jets are too small because the air corrector jets i blocked and still dont give the rite fuel supply because the main jets are still too small ive seen 2.1mm jets on the same carbs but every engine is different i have blank jets ive made up they are 1mm so with the air corrector jets still blocked starting at 1mm and 0.1 at a time open them out till i get the rite top end i want without goin lean thats if i am leaning off as i rev up to 7000 i think i am but may be wrong another thing without the corrector jets blocked and without any main jets in it its still the same it seems that with air correction and no jets installed the carbs need the corrector jets blocking to aid more fuel.
I saw this on another forum (When using bike carbs without an airbox they will run very lean and in most circumstances it will not be possible to fit a big enough main jet to compensate this because the hole required in the main jet will need to be as big as the hole it screws into. This can be overcome by blocking the air corrector jet.)

So with my corrector jets still blocked shall i drill out 0.1 at a time to see if it does hit the rite spot ide say past 1.8 or some ware bigger say 2.0mm then unblock the corrector jets to see if it leans out if it does then reblock the corrector jets to bring it bak to whare i want it to be then hopfully should be sorted
Ive set up all types of carbs in the past twin 40s etc had no real problem rejetting
oh n one more thing on injection ITB's it does not have the problem but there on my other car so im trying to get it rite coz its cheeper
im just loosing sleep over this so to speak anyone got any ideas would be really grateful
