Yes you get everything needed in the kit, ie ecu/software/lead, many people all around the country who map these, very easy to do, I go to Emerald as I live about 1/4 mile away, but would have gone no matter what the distance.
It's a 36-1 or 60-2 trigger pattern that is normally used, two most common, but does accept many others, uses all the std sensors, or other ie aftermarket, my tps is a universal one, but it's 2 mins on the computer/laptop to "align tps" job jobbed, does inverted tps also.
I used a 5 1/4" trigger wheel from
www.trigger-wheels.com, then machined off the lugs on my pulley and used a cast rod to weld trigger wheel to pulley, tolerance is +/- 35 degrees of true tdc, so could do it blindfolded nearly and still be close enough.
The K3 does not exist anymore as far as new sales go, it will be a K6, so ready for all the new features to come online, and will be a big improvement in certain ways over the K3, but as said K3 can add LC and TC.
