I'd say they're quite typical of many many people in the country - People who have realised that the system supported them sufficiently well for work to no longer be a requirement.

Our office is right next to the Job Centre, and you see the same faces there week in, week out - yet when you look through the window there are rows upon rows of jobs! There are lots of jobs out there, and now a lot more people are going to have to apply for them.
