To tax a car the v5 has to be in your name or the green slip filled out in yr name - the person taxing it i'e the trader.
I know this cos I've had this problem when taxing on my trade policy
simple way to get round it is to fill the green part out in pencil
show it at the post office and then go home and erase it - job done
