Average speed cameras.
they have just installed these in the lake district along a dual carriageway. the dual carriageway is alongside a lake and is about 2 miles of just twists and bends.(50mph limit) before i enter them i always hit cruise control at about 49/50 mph to make sure i dont go over the speed limit. Now i was wondering as i overtook a couple of vehicles while going round the corners(it more or less meant i was straightening the corners out to make it a straight road) i was wondering that if a car travelling at 50mph going throught all the bends on its own side of the road and sticks to 50 must be ok, but what if you straight lined the dual carriageway all the way taking the shortest route possible would it mean you would average a greater speed from a-b, maybe although you didnt go over 50mph? bit like taking a short cut.
