Alloy pipework and/or 45deg/90deg elbow (can't quite tell from the angle that pic is taken how much space you have between front and turbine inlet and angle) and have the air filter placed behind front grill to the side of the engine away from the rad I'd opt for. Plonking a filter straight onto the turbo will induce heat and also be hit from heat coming in through the rad especially when the fans start.
Don't think heat soak through the filter will make much difference with that turbo mate
Anyway, the intercooler will sort any heat issues
My vote goes for directly on the compressor housing
