Fiesta Mk3 Engine Mounts
Hi all, please excuse me I'm new to this forum.
My younger brother has a 1992 Ford Fiesta with a 1.3 Kent engine. The engine has far too much movement in it, so much so that the alternator is eating into the coolant pipe going from the rad to the engine. We've now gone through two of these pipes.
As far as we can tell the gearbox mounts are fine, they are all solid with very little movement, can't find any rust spots where it may have degraded and the bushes look fine.
The onside top engine mount also looks fine with no deteriation to the rubber bush although that seems to be were the engine is getting the most movement, e.g. stalling causes the airbox to hit the bonnet as the engine rocks backwards, Our theory (me and another Ford fanatic) is that there is a washer (or more likely a plate) missing from this mount, but we have no manual and I can't find an exploded view diagram or picture of the mount on internet.when you look at the mount the bolt, bolts straight to the rubber with no 'plate' or washer in between, which seems dodgy to me.
Has anyone come across this before or do you know where I can find a decent diagram. Thanks in advance for your help.
@Moderators: The link in your "..::Read this before posting in this forum::.." thread is dead, it just takes me to the forum's home page.
