You cant just plug your HDD into another machine if you had any sort of password to log into your original machine.

Easiest way of accessing your data would be to get a mate that knows about PCs to get a copy of ubuntu(Linux operating system that works seperately from windows) and run that on your HDD in situ. Once you have got your files you can either scrap that HDD or try and reformat it.
