Hi all,
Alot of good advice there, so would I be right in saying you can just get any Zetec bottom end i.e. st170 for example and mate it up to the CVH head?
If so how do they go about lowing the compression? Low comp pistons or spacer plate between the head and block?
I thought with the Zetec bottom end you'd have to fit stronger internals?
Looking to do more engine work rather than doing a few simple mods then cranking up the boost to compensate for the power I want.
I am thinking of getting a bottom end with a larger cc for the simple reason a 1.6 may struggle for reliability putting out 250bhp especially for every day use. Could be wrong though, please don't quote me.
I get my experience from Renault 5 Turbo's mind you

, to be honest not a bad car if built correctly but the 1400 stuggles on reliability with power over 180bhp. Also they get a bad name due to silly people running with the actuator pipe off and they wonder why they go pop pumping 34psi through a standard engine?
Thanks for all the replies
