hi guys, after selling my mustangs and not being able to afford anythin to put me back on the dragstrip i have decided to take what i have lying around and build a car for the practical performance car magazines £999 challenge which for those who havent heard of it its a bit of fun were your aloud £999 to build a car to compete on the drag strip and a handling circuit with a bunch of mental spanner men who can build cars from nothing!
anyways in my garage is a fiesta si 1.6 and a 2 litre mondy engine which i did intend to fit in my mk5 zetec s but the ease of fitting between the 2 cars is uncomparable as its so easy to fit it in the mk3, a added bonus is the engine was in a mk5 escort xr3i so have the convertion is already done.
so far the car is lowered with a exhaust of unknown origin and escort gti wheels (which i will need legal tires for), the engine was fresh built lump when it went in me mates escort and even has brand new hydralics on the top end BUT he was a silly boy and didnt fit the right water pump so with water pumping backwards the head gasket has failed, i have a new one and the correct pump to put on and a new clutch to make everything sweet.
anyways im at £700 at the moment and i havent even started building it yet! this is why i come on here to ask for what bits people have lying around which could help me out, id love a frst double rear roll bar setup or some polybushes or a better manifold or anything really that either makes it handle, lighter or faster lol
il start posting pictures and build up dates as i get on with it.
