I see cars fairly often that have had services at main dealers (VW/BMW etc etc) that have came in with the same plugs, or air filter or some other part that sould have been checked/changed as part of the service, so the ONLY reason i'd have a main dealer service my car is if its brand new, and I want a service history but i'd go over the car afterwards to makesure it's been done properly. Otherwise no I'd do it myself for peace of mind not to mention how much cheaper it is.

On a Cossie or any other sporty older car, i'd definately do it myself as it's very easy to do, most apprentice Ford ned mechanics will be out road testing it sideways and no doubt write it off, is it worth the risk?
