Default Turbo combinations. Ford + Non-Ford.

Im in need of a T3ish turbo for zetec conversion.

I bought a cheapo T3 from an S1 off ebay which turned out to have a knackered exhaust housing.

My dad has a complete working turbo from a 2002 320d touring which stands him at £0. Figuring they are similar sized engines is it possible to make a suitable turbo from the bits i have?

Zetec engine is 1.8 and i have a stainless top mount manifold for it with T3 flange.

I understand that diesels have a small compressor housing to give good torque, and thats also why they hit a brick wall in higher revs as they are choking. But to my knowledge they also have a decent sized exhaust housing to move the gasses out quick since they expand so much on combustion.

Is it possible to combine the 320d exhaust housing/turbine and the standard T3 compressor parts to make a turbo which will fit?

Im trying to keep things on a budget and since these parts have cost me nothing i'd like to use them if possible.

(P.S. the Escort turbo is lacking the water cooled bearing as its from an S1, ideally i'd like to utilise the bmw bearing cartridge so i have water cooling too)

Thanks in advance, and i look forward to replies/discussion.
