On my way back to work last night i noticed that my volt guage was reading at 12v, the car felt really sluggish and used a heap of petrol to do a 80mile trip. When the car is sat at idle the reading is c.13.5 volts. I was driving with the lights on but this only usually drops the reading too 13v.

Any ideas of what could cause this?
