Thanks for that but stripped all mechs down and soaked of with cleaner and then re-lubed with white grease (oil and door locks don't mix well, oil will break down the plastic parts and is prone to freeze) but it still did its one note Xylophone on speed routine.

I also corrected lock orientation and checked actuator rods which what leads me to suspect an iffy micro switch in the acuator itself.

What part of the locking mech normally gives the problem? Will take another look in case I have missed anything. Mine has the actuator mounted to the inner door frame mid way along with rods to the door latch mech (I think some had the actuator on the latch itself)

Ordered a new knob, maugh even be at the dealer but they haven't rung yet!
