Just had the reminder come in the post today

Got a question though, its asking me to send my licence in, both photo card and paper parts, but knowing dvla wont they take bloody ages to receive it and then send my licence back? and what happens in that time if i need to produce my licence in 7days etc and i cant produce it because dvla have it?
