Thanks Martin for your reply.

It is not under warranty and there are no other electrical problems as far as I can tell.

It seems to miss worse when I ease off the accelerator, I am not an expert on cars, but I am now thinking accelerator sensor/fuel pump/filter or as you say a PCM fault?

It could be numerous causes, and I could spend £500 and still have no solution.. so I am thinking it is best to call it a day and look for another car (Not a petrol Ford)
