you can easily trun off the abs altogether by installing a switch in the power to the abs ecu. this may mean that the pump does not then work, and the pump is what boosts the front brakes (otherwise the pedal is damned hard to press) and completely operates the rear brakes (there is no master cylinder for rear brakes).

also, to pass an mot, the abs light must function correctly. i.e. come on when ignition onto 2, and go off a few seconds later. a sensor fault will normally light the light when you start moving.
