Alloys don't normally increase insurance premiums too much on their own, and with 17's it'll still look ok even without lowering it. You can always change them back to the standards with no hastle when/if you decide to sell it. Make sure you don't increase the overall diameter of the wheel+tyre though or you'll make it slower.
