Ronnie a knackered swirl pot cost my mate 2 engines before they realised that was the problem, the engine was running lean coming out of round abouts and caused the failures. Ahmed told him to cut the tank open and have a look, sure enough the swirl pot was knackered.

I fitted a new pattern tank which has the metal swirl pot inside, this was fine on track with about 1/4 fuel in the tank towards the end of a session.

The thing i dont like about the big box type race tanks is they are mounted very high in the car which cannot be great for the Centre of gravity. The ones that use the spare wheel well like what was in the Dick Johnson Sierra's would be my choice if i ever went down that route.

Note how low the feed from the bottom of the tank is.
