Yeah IMO it will matter whether or not its on compression or exhaust stroke - could it possibly be the timing is 180deg out if you know what I mean.

Yeah it should still run on 3 cylinders even if its a 1.2. Did you have the head compression tested to make sure that it wasnt cracked before you put it back together???
