cheers for the info mate.

when i had the head off i turned the cam and all the valves opened and shut ok.

in the haynes it tells you how the set tdc but, bot when the cam belt has snapped.

am i right in thinking that after the inlet valves have opened and closed, then turn the cam sprocket around some more so the marks line up that it will than be on the compression stroke?

also does it matter whether the piston at tdc is on what would have been the comp stoke or the zorst stoke as i have no way of telling which is which, just set it at tdc.

as for the fuel, it was pissing in, i tooke the plugs out and the missus cranked it over, i got a face full of petrol lol

the engine is a 1.2 but i would have thought it would still run on 3 cyls maybe not as if there aint enough comp to start it??
