As said width is important, in the dry, it is counter productive in the wet where narrower is better.
HANKOOK VENTUS EVO V12 K110, best tyre imo, use these myself, even on gf's astra, grip is astounding wet or dry, feel a little "squishy" at fiorst as have soft sidewall but don't roll more than others but sure do outgrip them.
At sepang they did the circuit within 1.8 seconds of a dedicated dry road tyre in the dry then later a wet road tyre was comapred in the wet, 1.7 seconds slower, they wore out a few sets of dry road and wet tyres, and were still able to drive home on the(still) legal tyres after 13 laps at sepang, on ventus v12.
I've had F1, rainsport, ps2, t1s, t1r, to name a few over 27 years, just a totally different league, so good were they for the first time in my life I ordered 4 tyres so I had 2 spares in case I had trouble finding some when needed, 205/50X15 X 2 £107 delivered from blackcircles, be cheap at twice the price for the performance.
