Default Strange fault/problem on S1..

Hi all,

Let me fill you in on whats gone on.

I hadnt used the S1 for a good few weeks and took it out weekend before last and for some reason had completely lost tickover but if i adjusted the throttle cable it ticked over fine but at about 1.25 - 1.5k.

Took it to the tuners last weekend and CO2 was well out so was adjusted(the tuner also noticed and commented on a bit of oil on the inlet manifold/plenium) and took on a test run by the tuner who on return said he thinks i might have an air leak.

So this weekend i stripped all the hoses off the car and found that all the hoses had LARGE amounts of oil in them especcially the bottom hoses that goes from the intercooler to the bottom of the turbo in total i'd say in all the hoses and intercooler there was about 1/4 a pint of oil. I cleaned all the pipes and the IC out and refitted.

So as i had a bailey breather i decided to fit this as i guessed that the car was breathing very very heavy and thought it would help.

So with car all back together i decided to take it back to the tuners to get it sorted again.

Now this is where the fun began..

The car started and ran like a bag of shit, so rechecked all pipes and jubile clips no probs there.

Tried car again and it did a strange FART type noise which i thought was coming from the metering unit and didnt think anything of it as the car wouldnt start.

Checked the plugs not wet. Checked fuel nearly empty so went and bought 20 litres of Shell V Power.

Tried again and it started, went back to the house got changed.

Almost got the car out the garage and was running like shit again no tickover, so was holding the revs high which is difficult coming out my garage as i have to reverse out of my garage and into six foot wide alley. BUT i didnt even get that far i was moving the car into position in the garage and it started to sutter so i increased the revs to about 3k and all of a sudden BANG(sounded like a banger going off in a dustbin) smoke from under bonnet(greyish/blue). My first thought FUCK i've blown it up.

So i started to strip the car and found that there was ALOT of oil all over the back of the engine and the plenium which also wasnt even done up tight(i'd never thought to try it since i bought it) and had TWO bolts missing. Stripped off the rocker no problems in there and i have today taken the head off just to check and everything is very good in there no damage to pistons / block / valves / turbo etc etc..

So my question to you is have you ever heard of this issue and also what do you think might have caused it.

Sorry to go on but thought i'd give you the full story..
