Its a game of how good your BAD is and mine , due too not putting in that effort is terrible. Its a case of KEEP playing and re-checking things in the swing and all the other minute things that can amplify things. The older im getting and realising i do feel extremely guilty not sticking with it before. Time to grow up and enjoy it and believe in myself . My dad says nobody strikes it better than me , he knows /plays with shit loads of people for 40 odd years.
Not really once your playing to 3/4 its just a case of sitting the exams ( paper and practical ) and all of a sudden you can be classed as a professional the massive difference is the bit between professional and the well known golfers

As for the guilt i know where your comming from, there was a group of about 6 of us in our academy we all started about the same time 12/13 and all had full coaching provided by the club up to the age of 18 which involved 2-3 hours of lessons a week, travelling the country playing etc all paid for... once i hit 18/19 and was thinking more about girls and cars and kinda give up on the golf 3 of the others stuck with it for a few more years and two of them are now asisstant professionals at golf clubs in sheffield worst bit is i was better at the time then one of them and about the same as the other, now would i rather be a sparky or teaching golf hmmm < real tears
