as above deffo get the consumer unit changed, as said there getting cheaper, i think i saw in screwfix a comsumer unit bundle with all mcbo's etc for about £70 or £80 but make sure the electrician is part p registered as you may have problems when trying to sell your house!
my mate is a part p electrician and only took an hour to change
