I think my gear troubles are down to the straps that go around the outside of the clutch cover plate being no good(snapped)

well I just took the car for an mot and on the way back I'm 2 mins from home drivin carefully with a fucked clutch so I can go home and change the cover. Then a 911 pulls up next to me, tellin me how nice the car is. He used to have 1 blah blah blah
when I say there's a Cossie engine behind me has says "wanna race"
so I launch it off the lights and
BANG
no gears, I can put it in any gear with the engine on not touching the clutch.
So I'm now waiting for a tow home so I can change the clutch ready forpod in the mornin.
