I recently brought a p100 td with genuine 54k,on the way home it spat the headgasket out with oil everywhere. Took the head to Norwich engine centre to be skimed/checked. They rang me to say it need 4 new inlet valves and guides and all the clearances done,price including gaskets bolts and skimming £432.58p!!!! Only paid £250 for the whole truck! They also told me it was the old type head and I would be every lucky to find 1 secondhand. Is this true? could I use a mondeo or escort td head?
just get a escort td engine,and swap the sump over or just get a early non turbo,escort,fiesta 1.8 diesel head, and put that on the p100 bottom end,
