only took him about 3 horus to do the house and it's got a remote and does the downstairs at night, calls yuour phone if it goes off, keypad entry etc

the one we've got at the other house was fitted proffesionaly and calls the police if it goes off, has 3 remote fobs with it, belled the garage as well, etc, but that came in at the wrong side of £800

as for telescopic posts, i'd recommend the machine mart ones, the bigger variety, they go into the ground about 3 foot, come up about 18 inches or so, but are study enough
