Well as some of you might know, about 3 weeks back i gave up on my 3dr and booked it into REYLAND which it goes in on tusday. Well i was down at a brakers yard today sorting some stuff for my focos build when a focus came in to be broke! Well i just could not help myself i just had to have the coil pack off it for £10 . When i got home i thought i would just see if it was this that was making the car back fire all the time so on it went and i went for a spin. It was 100% spot on so i fort time for the boost to go up a bit and as the tools were out. We put all covers back on and down the road we went... well it was as bad as ever . Back fireing like mad so we turned the boost down.... still the same shit so i thought to myself what have you done to it now to what it was like 30min before? To which i said we have put the covers on that covers the coil pack and leads! So off they came and the coil pack was put inside the motor bay and the leads were just hanging all over the motor. Off i went down the road .... Spot on ,so the boost went up a bit still ok ,the boost up a bit more still ok ,so it went up to 28psi and its still spot on!!! It turns out its the leads being so tight togever as the coil pack was beside the heater motor out of sight but very tight. Its now by the battery and running spot on. This back fire problem has been doing my head in for about 5 months now so to say im very happy is a understatement as the list of stuff i have swapped on the car is silly and runs into hundreds of pounds. So it will be nice for it to go to REYLAND and be running nice before martin starts work on it! We will just have see what martin can do with the car now
