Done quite a few mk4 escort conversions if your looking for a 1/2 way medium then go 1.8 zetec on 40's that way you will get about 150bhp and the engines are cheap as chips coz most ppl want 2.0 then when on a run we have seen about 65-70 miles to £10 down the A1 to the scotch corner show/meet so your getting the best of both worlds but still getting about 150bhp per ton not massive but better than 80-100bhp/ton
