Yes you could do it but it will be a complete pain in the arse to do.
Engine, mounts, inlet and exhaust manifolds, intake pipework and MAF, complete new exhaust system including flexipipe and cat, new gearbox, driveshafts and intermediate shaft bearing, gearbox selector cables complete new engine wiring loom and ECU (plus new keys), fuel lines and fuel rail, new water pipes, new power steering pipework, new aircon pipework. That's all the parts I can think of off the top of my head, there's probably loads more!
Better just to get rid of the 1.6 and buy a 2.0 litre instead.
