I sent a e-mail to Bailey and that is what Bruce Hatton from Bailey Motorsport told me:

"""""Many thanks for your e-mail. There are very few liquids that you could use on the oil separator that would permanantly damage it, but we would recommend a strong mix of engine degraser or if you have it available standard paint thinners - Either way these chemicals can eb harsh on the skin, so please wear gloves when cleaning the tank and do not let any liquid dry on the outer surfaces, as this will affect the polished finish.

We use standard paint thinnners here to de-grease alloy components before they are welded, very good, but very strong !!
