My new oil pump came without the base and I've noticed a few in pics on here that are similar... so I use my old one I guess.

Following advice here I've had it lapped a little to reduced scoring and noticed when cleaning it that oil doesn't run straight into the hole in the base and come out of the hole that feeds the spray rail - should it?

Could it be blocked or is there some kind of valve in there?

Bit confused by this one and its essential to be sure before I refit it eh?
