General question - do you have to buy all the music off itunes or can you send your own music to your ipod off your laptop etc?

Daughter has got one for her birthday and just wondering if its gonna cost a fortune to put music on it for her? Have loads of music on the laptop but unsure as to how to get it on the ipod?

Anyone in the know let me know?
