Default Mk6 Escort Cosworth

i know someone who recons that the small turbo EsCos are actually Mk6 Escorts and not Mk5 like the earlier big turbos. i think that all Escort Cosworth are based on Mk5 shells.

when he says Mk6, i think he means Mk5b. i still think thats wrong and all Cosworths are based on the original Mk5 shell. hence the later small turbos don't have 2 part rear lights.

whats the score, is he talking shit?

i know that there are some shell differences between big and small turbos (petrol cap), but are they both based on original Mk5 shells, or are the small turbos Mk5b or Mk6's?
