Anyway, I'll be working with the Wood Group as an Instrument Engineer. Do you have experiences (good or bad ) of working along-side Instrument Engineers, or are you never around them? I'd be interested to find out specific examples of what work they are involved in. I've worked as an Instrument Engineer in the power industry before whilst on uni placement, but this will be my first time out in the oil industry.

Will be moving up to Aberdeen in August - looking to rent somewhere for 6-12months before buying somewhere. Although I hear house prices are quite expensive up there! Quite impressed with Aberdeen so far, compared to Glasgow - seems very clean and everyone is friendly.

Would be great to meet up for a few beers once I'm up there . Any tips & advice on where to live/not to live would be much appreciated.

I did wonder bud.

Woodgroup people will be maintenance on the proiduction side really. I'd imagine all the gauges there.

Production people dont like drilling people they forget they wouldnt have a job if we didnt get it out of the ground

I'll be off in august so can help you get about no sweat. I'll advise on areas too no problemo. Yes it's expensive to buy tho!

Beers are no problem and theres a large network of rs fans up my way
