what could be causing this?
my car is a 1994 ford escort 1.3 hcs. i have just fitted a k&n bolt on air filter. i have had to remove the original airbox and the 2 pipes that normally go into have been moved. the breather pipe that comes from the oil filter cap into the front of the air box has gone into the bottom of the k&n like the instructions says. the other 1 that used to go into the bottom of the air box has been blocked up and not used as the instructions say it is not needed.
now i used to have this problem a few months ago so i dont think it is anything to do with the k&n. when i put the foot on the clutch or leave it in neutral the engine revs climb very very high, then takes about 5 secs to come back down to normal.
it had a new idle control valve about 4 months ago so it wont be that. any ideas of what it can be?
thanks for anyone who can help
