not forgetting it could be the oil pressure switch my light came on and it turned out to b switch replaced it and its sweet as anything

No disrespect but it wont be the pressure switch in this case as the car struggles to idle...
the light will only flicker due to dodgy switch if the car is otherwise running fine..
