The mold is probably due to the high level of condensation that builds up when the warm air meets the very cold single pane of glass. Your likely to find that when the new windows are fitted, along with trickle vents, that Mold isnt a problem! I think a mild bleach solution is good for mold, but im a builder not a cleaner lol!
